           Ms.Jhorna Sinha, Principal & Chief Chef of CRABS Cookery and Bakery school has a B.Sc Degree in Hotel Management under Punjab Technical University. She is also an M.A in English by qualification and a Master Trainer under British Council & Sarva Siksha Abhijan, Assam Government . But her passion for cooking didn’t stop her here. She further undertook different specialised training programmes in cookery conducted by various Hotel Management Institution& NIOS under Govt. of India. Dedicating 20 years of her life to cooking and baking, hospitality training Ms.JhornaSinha has excelled her field in every aspect.

           Further, she has the strong moral support of her husband Mr Sakya Sinha ,Sr. Lecturer in Institute of Hotel Management , Guwahati. Mr Sinha himself is a Bakery Chef with experience of over 25 years in the hospitality sector.

            Ms Jhorna Sinha has served as a resource person in various Baking and catering programme organized by govt. of India . She has worked as a Part time lecturer in Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Guwahati, worked as a guest faculty in Indian Institute of crop processing(IICPT) Guwahati, Cookery Consultant for Panasonic India Pvt etc. Moreover, she is an Entrepreneur of Bakery Products. She has successfully delivered speciality products to some of the prestigious organizations, Hotel Brahmaputra, Hotel Landmark , Belle View, Down Town Hospital etc. Further she has been supplying eggless products to Baskin Robins for the last 10 years. In order to honour her knowledge and share it amongst our youngsters, she is being invited as a guest faculty by Ministry of Micro ,Small & Medium Enterprices( MSME) Bamunimaidan Guwahati. With a vision to spread her knowledge amongst the society , Ms. Jhorna Sinha initiated this school called CRABS Cookery and Bakery school at Christian Basti Guwahati ,Assam ,in the year 2000 and spreading the knowledge successfully since then.


           Cuisine is a celebration. There is pleasure, art and magic in cooking and baking. Pleasure first, in looking a good recipe, then in preparing it, tasting it, and serving it. And pleasure is even greater when it is shared. And what better way than of a career in cooking and baking to share the pleasure of cooking?

The story of Crabs Cookery and Bakery School began in the year 1998, when my husband Sakya and I decided to start , supplying fresh baked products to a nearby supermarket which turned be the adventure of our Life.  This crafted our desire to design Crabs Cookery and Bakery School for beginners of every age and background, as well as professionals of all levels, looking to enhance their skills and resumes.

Since 1998, we have worked continuously to evolve the curriculum and expand the facilities. We now have fully equipped laboratories and classrooms where professional culinary arts students gain real-world experience. It provides an amazingly fast training and continuing education program in baking and cooking through intensive classes set in a pleasant atmosphere. The small classes allow the chef-instructor to personally encourage each student to perform to the very best of his or her ability. The instructor is able to monitor and supervise the students’ progress while offering constructive support to help mould them into model chefs. The highly structured curriculum is based on strict criteria to help train the chefs of tomorrow using classic and innovative techniques. The Culinary diplomas and the specialised courses are very respected credentials in the food industry for those who are seeking a professional career and searching for employment independently or through our job placement service for life. Many leading hotels, country clubs, restaurants and caterers offer employment to our students. Currently, more and more students are starting their own food business right after training..
